SF

I am finally writing about our wonderful trip to San Francisco in March this year.

No trip to SF is complete for me without a visit to Paxton Gate. See photos 2 and 3 above.

PECK

Michael Peck is a well known Melbourne painter. This series of miniatures was created exclusively for Corky Saint Clair using Peck's original images to fashion these beautiful and timeless pieces.
From Peck's website: "Michael Peck’s [work] recall[s] old sepia-tone photographs. The focus is caught on strange moments, the blur of the trees at times hinting at fog or smoke as the figure looks warily into the distance. A different kind of narrative is unveiled in Peck’s world, one that shares a strange aesthetic with moments from Alfred Hitchcock’s films merged with hints of the surrealism of David Lynch. The monochromatic palette, the strong impression of a cinematic still, a sense of pause...."
Each image is GiclĂ©e printed onto rag paper which gives them the appearance of having been painted by hand. We have protected the miniatures with a durable glass cabochon. The glass is domed which provides some magnification and gives the illusion of depth. We believe that this display gives Michael Peck's artworks the perfect platform to display their etherial and mysterious qualities.
The miniatures are available as a necklace or as a brooch. The necklaces are presented on a 50cm Italian sterling silver fines curb chain.

CUBES

 photo output_JZGjxj.gif

After 10 years we have decided to update the Corky Saint Clair interior. The infamous Corky Saint Clair Crystal Tree had to go. It was initially fun having the tree there but anyone over 5'6'' got tangled up in it.

Our newfitout eschews the maximalist aesthetic of the crystal tree and vintage jewellery cabinets for a cleaner, clearer look.

We have made a counter of plywood cubes that house and highlight our many jewellery collections.

The fit out was designed and made by artist Tim Sterling. We put in a lot of work designing and installing it but the shop is looking truly amazing!

All Done! The Corky Crew with our super sweet new plywood cube fit out. A thousand hugs to Tim, Sarah, Hannah, Ben and James for all your hard work.

QUARTZ

Gemstone rings with a solitaire setting are so dramatic and so beautiful but they can sometimes look like an engagement ring. This is an awesome vibe to send out if you have met "the one" but if not it can seem to harsh eyes like wishful thinking.

Our new smokey quartz ring skirts this issue with its horizontal baguette setting. The stone is emerald cut which reduces the sparkle factor making this ring an easy choice for anyone looking for a casual gemstone piece that you can wear everyday without looking like you have chosen to get married to yourself.

Available in modern looking matte finish or high shine.

BIRD

These gorgeous glass bird necklaces feature genuine swap cards that are over 100 years old.
The Wills' Cigarette Company gave out cards featuring Australian and New Zealand birds based on drawings from the 1800s. These highly collectable cards were circulated in 1912.
We have placed each antique card in a stainless steel bevel and sealed it with a slightly domed glass cabochon. The cabochon gives the card a slight magnification of detail as well as a lovely sense of depth.
The necklaces have been presented on a 50cm Italian sterling silver fine curb chain.
We hope you'll embrace their state. The passage of time has left some signs of wear. We believe this only adds to their charm and authenticity - they do after all, carry a century of history.
See more of the collection here.
