One of the most dramatic passages from the Bible can be found in the book of Genesis. Adam is lonely and can't find a suitable comapanion amongst all the animals in the Garden of Eden so God tells Adam to go to sleep and then fashions Eve from one of Adam's ribs. | Genesis III introduces the Serpent, "slier than every beast of the field." The serpent tempts the woman to eat from the tree of knowledge, telling her that it will make her more like God and it will not lead to death. She succumbs, and gives the fruit to the man, who eats also, "and the eyes of the two of them were opened." Aware now of their nakedness, they make coverings of fig leaves, and hide from the sight of God. God asks them about what they have done. Adam blames Eve, and Eve blames the serpent. God curses the Serpent and then curses Adam and Eve with hard labor and with pain in childbirth, and banishes them from his garden, setting a cherub at the gate to bar their way to the Tree of Life, "lest he put out his hand ... and eat, and live forever." |
I recently sourced some apple pendants that evoke the drama of the Adam and Eve narrative.
These sweet apples open to reveal a cavity, where any number of temptations might be stored for the Adam in your life. Apple pendants available from Corky Saint Clair $65AUD |

I got these extra stylish hand made cushions from Bonnie + Neil - a local screen printing business based in Flemington. The Australiana motifs provide some visual relief from the endless squirrels and deers in my flat.

KILN
Straight outta the kiln - fresh Mcneil's porcelain. I know it just seems like graphic reproduction but each firing comes out a little different so it's alway interesting to open the kiln door and see what happened. These turned out extra fine - Natalie did a good job applying the image.

AMETHYST
Check out my new amethyst necklace. I think it looks like something a high school art teacher would wear.
It reminds me of that verse from Revelations (21:19)
“And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; / The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst."
Sounds like an awesome city, huh?

Wax Seal Ring Gift set by TMOD. Each kit comes with sterling silver ring, a TMOD candle and matches in a pirate style calico gift bag.
Instead of flaming your enemies on the internet, why not write them a letter and seal it with this elegant wax seal? That would be intimidating and classy.
The ring features a negative image of a Pegasus....
but wait there's more. Each ring flips and reverses to reveal a second wax seal - a sunburst that you could imagine Louis the XIV using on his documents. TMOD Gift Set Available from Corky Saint Clair $95 Au |

CRYSTAL
QUARTZ CUFF BY ABRAXAS REX
"Abraxas is the god whom it is difficult to know. His power is the very greatest, because man does not perceive it. Man sees the summum bonuum (supreme good) of the sun, and also the infinum malum (endless evil) of the devil, but Abraxas he does not see, for he is indefinable life itself, which is the mother of good and evil alike."
Carl Jung

QUEST
The quest to finding an appropriate butt tattoo is perilous - you don't want something that looks like you thought about it too much and it has to straddle that thin line between funny-slutty and straight up Coyote Ugly-slutty. With this is mind here are some butt tattoo ideas that I have been contemplating.

FINDERS
How funny is this tableau by Twisted Terrariums? This was my favourite thing at Finders Keepers 2010. |
|
I saw designer Nathalie Shield from Maru at her grassy stall.... |
|
Design Markets are alway fun to see what accessories craft kids wear. It's a bit like team colours seeing which label get trotted out on the day. Corky label had a good showing at Finders Keepers 2010, with lots of punters looking super hot in their Corky Finery. I saw this hand painted porcelain brooch that I did a million years ago. It was like seeing an old friend. |
|
It was so unbelievably beautiful outside. I felt like everything good about life melted into me the second I stepped outside.
Pip Lincolne from Meet me at Mikes made me this delicious plate of home made picnic food to take out with me. Thanks Pip, you are the best. |

SKELETON
Spanish synchronised swimming team in awesome skeleton swimsuits in Rome 2009.
The team are obviously very creative in their outfit choices as the previous year they planned to wear electric lights as part of their swimsuits for their Team Event Free Routine final on August 23, 2008. Officials from the International Swimming Federation (FINA) banned the suits, citing swimmer safety concerns, since the lights were battery-powered.
