I love these needlepoint cushions made by Brigid Berlin. They are so funny - especially the one of Keith Richards in the top photo.
Berlin was a socialite and one of Andy Warhol's 'Superstars'. Wikipedia reports: "After several years as a reluctant debutante and a failed marriage, Brigid Berlin met Andy Warhol in 1964 and quickly became a central member of his entourage. After moving to Hotel Chelsea, she took on the nickname Brigid Polk because of her habit of giving out 'pokes', injections of Vitamin B and amphetamines."
It's good to see that in her later years she's turned her hand to a more lasting kind of 'needlework'. Though it seems like she'd need some 'pokes' to finish the intricate work on these smart cushion-y odes to pop culture.
