ROMY
WHO WEAKLING EXHIBITION AT NO NO GALLERY. Works by Romy Hoffman (of Macromantics fame). "For WHO WEAKLING, Romy has strictly sworn to exhibit only art created in a one week period. She will spend a week drawing, then a week exhibiting. This is a form of Russian Roulette. Anything can and will happen."
These constraints give Hoffman's exhibition freshness in the subject matter i.e. drawings about the election and the Masterchef Grand Finale. There are lots of drawing dealing with drinking! My favourite was an alphabet using different drinks to represent each letter of the alphabet. Unfortunately someone had already bought that one.
Some of the drawings were presented in mismatched opshop frames bringing to mind the aesthetic of the climactic gallery scene from Pecker |

OWL
From burnished and buffed |
Does Camberwell Markets ever fail to amaze and excite with second hand treasures? I found these super sweet handcarved owls from Canada for just $5 from a very nice old man who collected animal figurines.
I'm having a stall at Camberwell on the 29th of August, which feels like some kind of recycling effort, in that I am returning a lot of stuff to the place where I got it from in the first place!

MARKET
CHECK IT OUT - the Corky Saint Clair booth at MARKit is the front of threethousand's street gallery. There are pictures of me and Louis inside. This was the first MARKit market and it went really well. MARKit is focusing on decorative and illustrative design with fashion, stationery, homewares and jewellery.
It was pretty stressful bumping in as we had to drag our new jewellery shelf down. Thank you to Ryan Foote who gave it to me! The shelf made it keeping our boxes neat all day. |

POKE
Check out my new tattoo by Oliver of the Sky
Yup, he's using the old stick and poke technique that you sometimes see in prison movies. The ink gets pushed into the skin using a needle bound to a pencil using some thread. You get a wispy, whispery line that kinda says "whatever". To my eye it's not as try hard as a tattoo produced using a tattoo gun, which with its precision and dense colour often ends up looking like a graphic design excercise or a layout from Juxtapoz magazine.
I like this triangle I got - it makes me look like I belong to some cool cult from the 70s. We chose the placement so when I wear necklaces they will pass through the triangle replicating that Pink Floyd album cover.
Triangles are so huge right now. Here is the transfer paper used to impress the design onto my neck. |

WATCH
You know how sometimes you just want something on your wrist when you go out? I would love to wear this Burberry Prorsum 2009 triple wrap men's watch. It'd look casual and cool when the leather softened.
It costs $595US so maybe you could just improvise your own out of an old watch face and some wide leather thonging?

RING
METAMORPHY Ring by Delfina Delettrez.
Yours for just $17417.75 Au (import fees and shipping included)
As an heir to the Fendi empire Delfina Delettrez is on her way to making her name known. Her signature collection of jewellery artfully blends her love of anatomy, nature, and jewels.
I like her skeleton hand ring, it looks like it'd be fun to wear as it both a bracelet and ring and would move with your hand making you aware of your body.
