PERIDOT

Found in lava, meteorites, and deep in the earth’s mantle, yellow-green peridot is the extreme gem.

Peridot is one of the few gemstones that occur in only one color, a vivid olive-green.

Peridot has always been associated with light. In fact, the Egyptians called it the “gem of the sun.” Some believed that it protected its owner from “terrors of the night".

Peridot is the birthstone for August and the 15th anniversary gemstone.

Our tear drop shaped necklaces measure 12mm high x 10mm long.

LAZULI

Lapis lazuli is known for its intense blue colour. Often the surface has gold or brassy discolourations which add to the charm and uniqueness of this natural gemstone. This tear drop pendant measures 10mm from top to tip. The bezel and chain are both sterling silver.

LABRADORITE

Labradorite is an unusual stone from Labrador, Canada. It shifts colours, moving through shades of grey, pink, brown and purple. The stones often have black or brown inclusions which make the iridescence (or labradorescence as it is also called) more intense.

We have new bezel set labradorite rings at Corky Saint Clair. We have rough cut our labradorites which captures the light, making the stones seemingly glow.

Please watch the video I posted yesterday, to see the ring in action.

WOLF

A lonewolf is a wolf that lives independently rather than with others.

In the animal kingdom, lone wolves are typically older wolves driven from the pack, perhaps by an alpha male, or young adults in search of new territory.

Rather than openly challenge the dominance of the pack leaders, many young wolves between the ages of one and four years leave their family to search for a pack of their own.

Some wolves will simply remain lone wolves; as such, these lone wolves may be stronger, more aggressive and far more dangerous than the average wolf that is a member of a pack.

Occasionally, a lone wolf will encounter another lone wolf of the opposite sex, and the two may start a new pack.

FOOD

Mmm yummy spicy lamb boreks. The food here is amazing and great value.

My (vegan) favourites:
1. Broad Bean salad with Giant Cous Cous. ($5.00 AU) I am not sure what the green sauce on the beans is. The lady told me she didn't know (yeh right). I think it might be Olive Oil and tahini? Its a mind blowing mixture of textures, colours and tasty goodness.
2. Zucchini rolls ($2.50AU) - mücver (zucchini pancakes) served with tabouleh and red cabbage.
3. Cabbage rolls. ($2.00 AU) The gelatinous cabbage leaves are stuffed with garlicky tomato rice.
