I have been making this orange pomander in the shop for the last two days. It's taken forever but the smell of cloves & orange is so lovely, warm and evocative of Christmas that I have really enjoyed the process.

We have soldered a gorgeous uncut spinel into one of our much loved Anatomical Heart lockets. The intense colour of the spinel is evocative of a drop of blood.

Hey everybody we are looking forward to taking part in the Big Design Market 2015 at the Royal Exhibition Building.

This year we have gotten a much bigger stand so everyone will be able to get to us, and we have a primo position near the museum entrance side.

We will be showcasing our Cast Iron Dinosaur collection and debuting some new t-shirt designs for all the Corky Hommes out there.

DINOSAUR

Hey everybody our long awaited Cast Iron Dinosaur Homewares range has arrived at Corky Saint Clair.

We have Stegosaurus and Triceratops bookends and T-Rex, Brontosaurus, Stegosaurus and Triceratops coat hooks. The cast iron home wares are heavy duty and will last a lifetime of constant use.

This range is a collaboration with Melbourne company Oshi.

The homewares are based on original carvings made for us and each one has handsome details. They have a 'Natural History' vibe evocative of the stately interiors of museums or national galleries.

FINDERS KEEPERS

We will be showing off our new illumintated dome ring plinth at Finders Keepers this afternoon, Saturday and Sunday. There are some new gemstones to check out: smokey quartz, labradorite and copper turquoise. 

For dudes there are some new tee shirt designs including a dinosaur print that will blow your mind.

LABRADORITE

Labradorite is an unusual stone from Labrador, Canada. It shifts colours, moving through shades of grey, pink, brown and purple. The stones often have black or brown inclusions which make the iridescence (or labradorescence as it is also called) more intense.

We have new bezel set labradorite rings at Corky Saint Clair. We have rough cut our labradorites which captures the light, making the stones seemingly glow.

WOLF

A lonewolf is a wolf that lives independently rather than with others.

In the animal kingdom, lone wolves are typically older wolves driven from the pack, perhaps by an alpha male, or young adults in search of new territory. 

Rather than openly challenge the dominance of the pack leaders, many young wolves between the ages of one and four years leave their family to search for a pack of their own.

Some wolves will simply remain lone wolves; as such, these lone wolves may be stronger, more aggressive and far more dangerous than the average wolf that is a member of a pack.

Occasionally, a lone wolf will encounter another lone wolf of the opposite sex, and the two may start a new pack.

Hey Everybody
We are super psyched to be part of Finders Keepers Melbourne 2015 Spring + Summer at the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton. The event is over three days - the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of October.

At this show we will showing off our new teeshirt designs for men.

We will also have new semi precious jewellery. We will be debuting our new Labradorite pendants and rings at Finders Keepers.

Finders Keepers will be an excellent opportunity to see what Melbourne independent designers, (including us, Corky Saint Clair) are doing at the moment.

HERKIMER

Our Herkimer pendants are sparkly, perfect examples of how stunning artefacts created by the natural world can be.

These uncut stones are naturally faceted (which is extremely rare). Each one has 18 facets regardless of size.

Our new range of Herkimer Minis are proving to be even more popular than the originals. These new stones measure 9mm from tip to tip.

They are graded and priced according to how clear each stone is.

FOX

Yesterday a quirky private school girl approached me and asked why people wear foxes. I said to her
"The fox is associated with quick thinking and adaptability. Foxes are an awesome symbol to have when you are facing tricky situations as they are clever and sometimes cunning.

More importantly they have very sweet faces making them one of the cutest animals in the forrest."

She nodded, understanding now.

If you are a fox fan we have made some new sterling silver fox studs. Each fox is slightly different and they have been modelled to look like they are prancing through the thickets.
