| A thaumatrope is a toy that was popular in Victorian Times. A disk or card with a picture on each side is attached to two pieces of string. When the strings are twirled quickly between the fingers the two pictures appear to combine into a single image due to persistence of vision. |
|
These thaumatropes were featured in the Tim Burton film 'Sleepy Hollow'. Ichabod is reminded of his dead mother after meeting Katrina and has a flashback of her spinning a thaumotrope to comfort him as he falls asleep. |

| New Mixtape Enamel + Stainless Steel Brooch by Christopher-Hussein Bril I was inspired to make this super sweet brooch when my very nice boyfriend gave me a mixtape for Christmas. It had lots of cool songs on it including one by Judee Sill that I listen to all the time. I don't even know who she is but I like it. |
|
| We are giving one away as a special promotion. Just tell us your ultimate 'mixtape killer track'. Just one track per person please. Competition ends on June 12, Tuesday at 9am. Leave a comment with your suggestion on our facebook page or email it to corkysaintclair@gmail.com |

Dear Diary It seems my crystal habit is spinning totally out of control. I love crystals so much, nothing seems to matter when I'm staring at them. Today I bought this stunning "Crystal Teeth" necklace from beloved indie jewellery shop Corky Saint Clair for just $60AUD. It consists of four quartz points on an 80cm Italian sterling silver chain. I have spent hours playing with the necklace as the quartz teeth spin around the rod that holds them. I always wanted more from my life but maybe crystals are enough. Peace out Bailey-Rose 21/04/2012 |
